RAMADAN/EASTER EMERGENCY: 17,000 Families Need Food

The holy month of Ramadan and the Easter celebration should be times of joy and spiritual reflection. But for 17,000 families in Addis Ababa, these sacred days are marked by hunger. They cannot afford Iftar meals to break their fast. They cannot provide holiday meat for their children. For five years, Babul Keyer USA has ensured that 5,000 families receive daily Iftar meals throughout Ramadan, and 2,000 non-Muslim families receive meat for Easter. But this year, with inflation at record highs, the number of families seeking help has TRIPLED. We must expand our seasonal distributions to reach 17,000 families, or thousands will celebrate their holiest days with empty stomachs and broken hearts. This is a spiritual and humanitarian emergency.

- Daily Iftar meals for 10,000 people throughout Ramadan: $200,000
- Eid al-Fitr food packages for 5,000 families: $150,000
- Easter meat distribution for 3,000 non-Muslim families: $90,000
- Aduhiya meat for 5,000 families during Eid al-Adha: $140,000
- Holiday clothing for 10,000 children: $180,000
- Emergency food reserves for seasonal spike: $100,000
